Collaboration with Aneira Thomas

Artist duo Lauren Venn and Aneira Thomas explore the intersection between control, structure and spontaneity. Their collaborative practice celebrates the overlooked rhythms of the natural world and the accidental beauty that emerges through process. 

Combining Thomas’s sensitivity to the delicate patterns and slower methods of nature with Venn’s fascination for abstraction and the tension between chance and decision. From hand-made stretchers and extracted natural pigments to the layering of pastels and acrylic paint, their process is to respond to each other through an exchange of work. Colour, pattern, and rhythm guide their exploration, while deliberate disruptions and compositional rearrangements invite new ways of seeing.

Their collaboration marks the beginning of a shared journey that merges two distinct practices into a single, unfolding dialogue of texture, harmony, and discovery.
